California AB 1200 Disclosure

About California AB1200

At Nutricook, ensuring the safety of our products is our top priority, and we are committed to fully complying with all applicable regulations governing our products. California’s AB1200 requires manufacturers of listed cookware to make certain disclosures about their products based on whether certain chemicals are intentionally added to the products’ food contact components and handles.

The table provided in this webpage outlines the cookware items for which the website disclosure is required. We have no reason to believe that any of our products present a health risk.

What are the requirements of California AB1200?

California AB 1200 cookware disclosure requirements are found in California Health & Safety Code beginning in Section 109010. As of January 1, 2024, manufacturers of cookware sold in the state must disclose intentionally added chemicals listed on the California DTSC Candidate Chemical List that may be present in the handle of the product or in any product surface that comes into contact with food, foodstuffs, or beverages.

The law also requires manufacturers to identify such chemicals on their website starting January 1, 2023.

In the context of this regulation:

“Cookware” means items that are used to prepare, dispense, or store food, foodstuffs, or beverages. “Cookware” includes pots, pans, skillets, grills, baking sheets, baking molds, trays, bowls, and cooking utensils.

“Intentionally added” means that the manufacturer has intentionally added the chemical to the product and the chemical has a functional or technical effect in the product.

The cookware products identified in the following table comply with relevant limits and rules established by the federal Food and Drug Administration ensuring their safe use in direct contact with food.
